The PCB Inspector will be required to visually inspect assembled PCB’s and Electronic Assemblies to ensure that they meet quality standards and customers requirements.
Duties/tasks will include;
- Inspect PCBs to IPC-A-610, class 3 to ensure quality of product using the latest magnification equipment, AOI & Xray
- Liaise with Production
- Assist and support Production Technicians by discussing faults and findings to include Internal Training of the Team
- Manage and resolve inspection queries and raising NCR’s as applicable
- Monitor build, quality and report quality issues as necessary.
- Action rework as necessary PCB Inspector – other skills/knowledge required;
- Understand component identification codes such as resistors, capacitors and ICs
- Able to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOM)
- Previous inspection and assembly experience to IPC-A-610 class 2 minimum desirable
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time on repetitive tasks
- Able to work effectively to deadlines
- Demonstrates proactive approach
- Good communication skills
- Dexterity, Good Hand and Eye coordination

Hours: Mon-Thurs 8-5, Fri 8-2.30

We are recruiting and a fantastic opportunity for a Surface Mount Team Leader has arisen with an industry leading electrical manufacturing company based in Bridgwater, Somerset.
The Surface Mount Team Leader will be responsible for assisting with the running of the SMT Production Line. Other responsibilities will include setting up, programming and running Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines, operating and profiling reflow machines, quality controls and the general housekeeping of the production process as well as managing a team of 3/4 Operators.
Ideal candidate must be able to work within a team, be computer literate and self-motivated
Responsibilities
- General running and maintenance of the Surface Mount Machines
- Correct and safe use of printing equipment, reflow oven and automated optical inspection machine (AOI)
- Meet Company targets in Production and Quality
- Continual improvement of Surface Mount Productivity
- SMT experience required but further training will be given to assist with knowledge gaps
- Working to tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy
- Must be reliable, conscientious and hard working
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be preferential
- Ability to work as part of a team
The ideal candidate for the Surface Mount Team Leader role will have at least 1 years’ experience within an SMT Production environment and managing a team of Operators in this area
Salary: Negotiable and can include a relocation package for the right candidate
Hours: Mon-Thurs 8-5pm & Fri – 8-2.30pm
